Our Founder, Bernabe G. Garcia Sr, opened Latin Style Barbering School in 1996.
The first establishment opened on the side of his house on 13th street & Baseline.
Being an establishment fitting only 5 stations, a strong foundation was planted.
By 1997 we moved to what was known as the “Kmart Plaza” on 3rd street & Baseline, holding 14 stations, and flourished there for over 20 years.
In 2018 we relocated to the “Fry’s Plaza” on 7th Street & Baseline, being able to hold 20 stations on the floor, and 1 station for the classroom setting.
Barbering has thus become a way to serve our community in South Phoenix and has expanded largely across the valley.
We have 4 generations of Barbers within our family, 3 generations of Instructors and countless generations of alumni!
We are very proud to have made the opportunity possible for people to provide for their families outside of the source of jobs in the Arizona heat.
We beleive in giving each student the tools necessary to be successful in all thier endeavors, not just in cutting hair.
We build integrity, and responsibility along with their skills so that they can always have the opportunity to make the most of their education and achieve their dreams of success.
Our Barber course involves 1200 hours of study as mandated by the Arizona State Board of Barbers.
We have designed a system, known as The Floor Sheet, to help the Student’s ensure they are right on track.
This system, along wiht their Attendance, (2 options: part time|full time), is incorporated onto their Monthly Progress Reports.
It helps Student and Staff to communicate, and meet each individuals needs.
If a Student is willing to participate, put in the work, we as a school will do whatever is necessary to provide a successful education.
